CONSIDER HOW YOU IMPACT PEOPLE.
HOW IS THAT OFFENSIVE?:
UNDERSTANDING MICROAGGRESSIONS AND THEIR IMPACT
“You’re so articulate.”
“Will you be our notetaker for this meeting?”
“No, where are you originally from?”
Have you ever heard those things in the workplace? Even though they might be said without malicious intent, their impact is often hurtful. In this workshop, you'll have a candid conversation about normalized comments and behaviors that could be offensive to others. The discussion will focus on identifying and addressing microaggressions when they occur and supporting underrepresented and marginalized individuals who are navigating dominant group spaces.
PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN...
How to identify microaggressions.
How stereotypes and biases influence our interactions with others.
What to do if you are the perpetrator, victim, or witness of a microaggression.
WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE IN THIS WORKSHOP?
